[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]If I have to pick some top Taiwanese younger designers that are super activate recently, Jamie Wei Huang will definitely be in the list. There were already tons of thousands news and information about her, not only that her design has been chosen by Lady Gaga (and apparently she wore them as her daily wear cuz it caused a traffic of photographers on the street that’s why we have so many different versions of she wearing them), also, Jamie has worked for some famous fashion house in her earlier designer life.

However, what interests me is the chance to meet her by myself. I know it is always gonna be different from something you’ve heard or has been told. So I came to her on a typical stormy day of London, and found the studio that she shared with another talented Taiwanese designer Ming.

She was leaning on the table, with ruler and pencil in her hand working on something. I could only see her back and a black waterfall as for her hair.

After I had a brief talk with her, I found out why she’s a little different from others. Before she studied design, she was major in Art. I always believe that culture to fashion is like the icing for cakes, small step but changes every story, and Jamie has done the story perfectly by balancing her artistic and designer side. It’s very easy to see by the material that she’s been using or the unique silhouette, and the most important at all, by the way she talks. She’s a wonderful story teller for her collection. Though at that day her fall winter collection was still working in progress so I could’t take picture of them, but the story of her interpreting Polish costume during the wall was amazing. You should check on it right now. (Down below)
What’s more is that, I’ve found out she’s traveling to Copenhagen these’s days to have a conference with MUUSE, the world’s largest new talents support association. I believed she’s the first Taiwanese designer who has every been there till now. (correct me if there were others and I will be happier) . I don’t even dare to blink just not to miss any news about Jamie in the future.
